    Ennerdale has been popular for generations and considered the bench mark for all Lakeland tobaccos. It is one of the first that most people try and their journeys through the Lakeland tobacco landscape. One of the more complex aromas of; rum, vanilla, floral extracts, citrus fruit and almond, the result is a highly aromatic tobacco. With a blend of Virginia’s from Africa and South America, with a little Burley from Malawi. Most of these tobaccos are chosen for their sweet taste and ability to soak up the complex top dressings. The use of burley and darker air cured tobaccos keeps the smoke cooler and brings a woody, creamy texture to the smoke. From the pouch Ennerdales sweet and tantalising aroma fills the room, once it is in the pipe and lit the flavours come to life. The draw is sweet and packed full a complex blend of flavours and the finish lasts and lasts. As you would expect the room note on this tobaccos is very pungent and enjoyed by most.     This is a dark fired and dark air cured twist. Also known as Brown Bogie. An old fashioned rope tobacco that provides a stout smoke with high nicotine content. Manufactured by the same spinning process using dark fired wrapper leaves. The filler is again, predominantly dark fired leaf with the addition of a small percentage of dark air cured Indian leaf. They are therefore strong tobaccos. This Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. dark fired and dark air cured twist is also known as Brown Bogie. This brown twist is a bit stronger than the black twist and is made to slice into coins for smoking, or small plugs for chewing - as done by many sailors. Learn More

    Previously known as 'Rum Flake'. A very rich, sweet fully flavoured blend. The main feature is the high proportion of naturally sweet sun-cured tobaccos in the blend - over 40%. Only 30% Virginia leaf, with the rest of the blend coming from burleys and dark-air cured contribute to a strong, but rewarding smoke. The whole blend is cased in maple sugars to further enhance the natural sweetness of the sun cured leaf and then rounded off with a dash of rum. Learn More
